A reflective note from a council member
Dear friends in Christ,
I hope you have all had the opportunity to meet Pastor Carla during her stay with us! I think she would make a wonderful addition to our pastoral staff here at CLC! Personally, she is very very open, caring and joyful. She is good at assessing the strengths of congregations and where they need to grow. Her communication skills are fantastic, and she is a good listener as well. She has exceptional organizational, administrative and strategic planning skills, as well as strengths in team building, prioritizing and goal setting. She has experience in the LGBTQIA community, racial and social justice. She has served in the bishop’s office, taught at the seminary level, addressed and lead groups within the wider ELCA. She is a poet, and has a mighty and beautiful voice.
A couple of weeks ago, I was texting with the pastor at my former congregation. I asked her if she happened to know Pastor Carla. She told me Pastor Carla is an important voice in the ELCA and that she was nominated to be bishop in the last election! In my opinion, we would be very fortunate to have someone so gifted to be our lead pastor!
Peace and joy,
Mary Ann Jasper
